Internet Tip - Give Them What They Want
by Maria Marsala
Summary: If you'd like to give your ezine readers choices, consider offering both text and HTML version ezines.
Nowadays, many email programs accept "HTML" version email or text. Even AOL has added this feature to AOL 6.0 The HELP feature on your email program can tell you more about your formatting options. Just tap on >help>help index>format.
You recognize HTML email as the pretty emails that take a bit longer to load on your computer. They're the emails that you need to be on-line to read in order to see the "full effects" and pictures that are part of the email. Many individuals and quite a few discussion groups do not allow or cannot handle HTML emails. Now you can accept HTML emails AND give your address list members what they want, too! How?
Some email programs, such as Outlook, allow you to specify in what format your email is sent to a specific addressee. In Outlook, go >contacts>address book. Then find the email address of the person/discussion list where you need to change the format to "text only". Tap on their address, check the box that says "sending using text format". You can also set an address as text, when you add a new contact (address), too.
