8+ Places to Promote Your Teleclasses

Stategic Business Coach, Planning Strategist Maria Marsala by Maria Marsala

Summary: Learning about 8 plus teleclass promotion websites.

Before December 1998, I knew zip about teleclasses. Yet, there I was (wondering what the heck I was getting myself into) on the phone with 20 other coaching students attending Coach U, the first virtual coaching school. The founder Thomas Leonard was an extremely techno-savvy guy, indeed! But more than that, his desire to travel, not be tied down, and make money doing what he enjoyed were additional motivation.

Thomas also started Teleclass.com (it recently closed) -- a place where coaches could advertise their teleclasses. The concept of teaching teleclasses was so new back then, that before you were allowed to advertise a program on Teleclass.com you had to be certified as a Teleclass Leader. That meant you took classes on how to run and teach classes, develop curriculum and then had to give (I forget what number) of hours of training, too! Only then were you certified.

Fast forward 10 years, it's commonplace for coaches and Internet marketers to use the telephone conference lines to teach classes for anywhere from 1 to tens of thousands in attendance. And the venue is moving more towards the webinar format. The format has moved into corporate America, too with companies hiring trainers to teach their employees 100% conducted virtually, too.

When you teach teleclasses it's important to list your classes on your web site. But what other resources can attract students to you? The list below may help you promote your classes. Some of the companies below allow you to advertise for free. Some charge a registration fee while others require you to be certified as a TeleClass leader. Most have elists full of subscribers who have requested a weekly listing of classes offered.

  1. On your website!
  2. 24/7 coaching (For coaches only)
  3. Seminar Announcer
  4. Craigslist
  5. Conference Call University
  6. Free Seminar List
  7. In return for posting your event on their website or to their list, you do the same for another business owner.
  8. Send events notices to your local newspapers (some will take teleclases, others will not)
  9. Check the social networking sites you're on for events listing; either in your profile or as part of the whole website.
